For more than 50 years, one stunning icon has welcomed millions of guests to Magic Kingdom before they’ve experienced their first attraction or tasted their first mouse-shaped treat. After 5 years dressed for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, the castle has returned to her original 1971 color palette. Cinderella Castle’s new paint brings back the softer gray stone, rich blue rooftops, and classic look that welcomed guests on opening day over 5 decades ago.

The castle has seen a handful of transformations through the years. Though, this return to its original color scheme feels like a beautiful tribute to the park’s incredible history. For longtime Disney Parks fans, it may bring back memories of childhood vacations, family traditions, or that unforgettable first trip to Walt Disney World. For first-time visitors, however, it’s an opportunity to experience Cinderella Castle like guests did when Magic Kingdom first opened its gates in 1971.
Our Rubio Arts cast is lucky enough to spend each day creating art in the shadow of this beloved landmark. The castle has inspired countless works of art from our talented team over the years. From hand-painted parasols featuring its iconic silhouette to the backdrop of custom portraits and caricatures. Cinderella Castle continues to spark creativity in both our artists and the guests who visit us.

The next time you visit Magic Kingdom, slow down as you walk down Main Street, USA. Take in Cinderella Castle’s restored colors, admire the intricate details of her architecture, and appreciate the history behind one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. Then, stop by one of our Main Street location and let our artists create something just as timeless. Choose between a hand-painted parasol, a custom silhouette, a portrait, or another personalized work of art inspired by the magic surrounding you.
