Our cast is at the heart of everything we do. Though today, we are proud to spotlight one of our most dedicated and creative cast members. Introducing… Erin, a silhouette artist with 15 years of experience under her smock.

When Erin first joined Rubio Arts in 2010, she started as both a portrait and parasol artist. From the very beginning, however, she was drawn to silhouettes. She began practicing immediately. Within about a year, she was scheduled her very first shift as a silhouette artist. It was the start of a passion that has defined her career at Rubio Arts.
Erin’s journey at Disney Parks has taken her in exciting directions. At one point, she even took on a role helping prepare Elsa and Anna’s Frozen Journey, a then brand-new attraction for Tokyo DisneySea. For years, she remained a seasonal silhouette artist, returning when she could to continue sharing her craft. Now, we couldn’t be happier that Erin is back with us full-time, bringing her artistry to Main Street each week.
When asked what she loves most about silhouettes, Erin’s answer was full of warmth. Her favorite pieces are those that bring multiple generations together in a single silhouette, creating a keepsake that celebrates family in the most timeless way. She also has a special place in her heart for silhouettes of animals and beloved stuffed animals. “I feel it,” she says, “and I hope to imbue that feeling into my art.”

Erin also occasionally adds colorful paint touches that bring a new dimension to her silhouettes. Guests can see these unique, hand-painted illustrated silhouettes on display at our Main Street silhouette cart. She also brings her own thoughtful touch to the cart itself, often decorating it with fresh flowers that brighten the space and welcome guests to stop and take a closer look.
Most mornings during the week, guests can find Erin along Main Street in Magic Kingdom, carefully creating silhouettes for visitors from all over the globe. For her, meeting people from so many different walks of life is part of the magic of working at Walt Disney World.
“Knowing that there are thousands of my silhouettes in homes worldwide is an amazing and lovely feeling.”

Our cast is so grateful to have Erin as part of the Rubio Arts family. We invite you to stop by to see her in action! You’ll not only leave with a beautiful silhouette, but a memory touched by Erin’s artistry.
