Balloon weights at Walt Disney World Resort are about to get an update! New weights have already debuted at Rubio Arts locations at Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs. Guests will see them at Disney’s Hollywood Studios very soon, as well. If you have an old balloon weight from Disney World, better keep it in a safe place. Soon, Rubio Arts locations throughout Walt Disney World will only distribute our new weight design!
OLD WEIGHT DESIGN
Rubio Arts balloon vendors at Walt Disney World have been using the same balloon weights since the 80’s. The classic, glossy weight design featured a complete indented rendering of Mickey Mouse’s face. There was a small hole on the right ear for our vendors to loop balloon strings through.
Each weight came in at 23 grams, the perfect amount to keep most Rubio Arts balloons safely grounded. For our larger balloons with more buoyancy, our vendors typically attached two weights. On the back was an important reminder to keep the weight attached to your balloon.
NEW WEIGHT DESIGN
In early August, new Rubio Arts balloon weights first debuted at Magic Kingdom. Our new weights have a Mickey balloon shape, rather than Mickey’s face. Their updated design is matte black and smooth to the touch. Like our old weights, the balloon string is tied through a hole on the upper right ear.
At 30 grams, they are slightly heavier than our previous balloon weights. As a precaution, Rubio Arts vendors still attach two weights to our more buoyant balloons. The same disclaimer is still stated on the back of all new balloon weights.
“This weight will help keep your balloon from floating away. Please do not remove.”
If you pick up a new Rubio Arts balloon weight at Walt Disney World Resort, share it! Tag your balloon photos with #RubioArtsBalloons on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter. Rubio Arts will like and share your photos!
